5 tips for parking on Mallorca
Ouch - 80 euros for parking illegally - that hurts. We are not used to such fines in Germany. On Mallorca and throughout Spain, however, such sums are quite common. To avoid problems and stress, we have put together 5 tips for parking in Spain.

Pay attention to the colors on the ground: White = all good. You can park here free of charge. Blue = you must buy a parking ticket. Yellow = best NOT to park here at all. If the yellow lines are solid, the "Grua" (the towing service) threatens a visit. Incidentally, they then leave a fancy squeaky orange sticker on the ground and you pay something between 250 and 300 euros to get the car out again.
Never forget to buy a parking ticket or to redeem it in good time. The O.R.A. employees (the Spanish public order office) in their discreet yellow jackets are always present everywhere. Depending on the area, they are swarming all over the place and it's not easy to deal with these money collectors. An expired ticket is an expired ticket! Although ... tears sometimes help.
Always pay fines as quickly as possible! Preferably within the first hour of the ticket being issued. Then you can buy your way out for between €5.50 and €7, provided you have some change. If the hour is up - bad luck, but please pay quickly. Because within two weeks
